In this week's podcast, WQA Executive Director Pauli Undesser discusses the new restrictions Amazon.com has placed on refrigerator filters.

Effective May 10, 2017, Amazon.com will no longer sell refrigerator filters that do not have certification as a system (including performance testing as well as material safety and structural integrity testing).

"What Amazon.com found by looking out into the industry is that there a lot of fraudulent claims, misleading claims and patent infringement that are occurring around refrigerator filters, and they decided to act," said Undesser. "It's something that WQA supports."

WQA is reaching out to clients and members to keep them informed of these changes, while also providing assistance to any companies that may need help dealing with the new directive from Amazon.

Members that have questions or need help should contact Brian Geegan, the WQA Business Development Director at [email protected]
