In this week's podcast we talk with Andy McClure of Jacobi Carbons, Inc. based in Ohio. It's the world's largest manufacturer of coconut-based activated carbons. The company sells to home water filter manufacturers for Point-of -Use or Point-of-Entry products.

Andy talked with us at the WQA Convention in Orlando, and discussed his company's involvement with WQA's Sustainability Certification program.

"It's a benefit to our customers," McClure said. "If we have a customer that's making a device, if they use our material it makes part of their process to (get the sustainability certification) easier."

The WQA Sustainability Certification Program is the first of its kind in the drinking water treatment industry. The Sustainability Certification Mark verifies to retailers and consumers that a product has been manufactured according to industry standards for recognized best practices in environmental sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
